Description:
22 Gauge Round Half Hard Anti-Tarnish .925 Sterling Silver Wire - 25 foot cut. Argentium is a modern alloy which modifies the traditional sterling silver alloy (92.5% silver + 7.5% copper) by replacing some of the copper with a rare metallic element called Germanium. Great for any jewelry project and is highly tarnish resistant.
TIPS TO PREVENT DISCOLORATION:
(1) Use a dedicated polishing cloth. Do not mix your cloths between standard sterling silver and Argentium.
(2) Some plating and cleaning solutions may dissolve Germanium. Make sure never to use any chemicals containing Sulfuric or Nitric acid.
(3) It is best to avoid any type of deionized water. Using deionized water can cause water stains.
(4) If soldering, make sure to use a low heat setting. |
